Alexander Karolik Shlaen

Alexander Karolik Shlaen is an economist and holds an Executive MBA from Kellogg School of Management and HKUST.

Alex founded Panache Management in 1995. Between 1990 and 2000 he was in Japan, crafting his style of ‘East meets West’ business management. Shortly after, he was based in Hong Kong for four years, before relocating to Singapore in 2003.

He has also served on the board of directors for Brinks Japan, a joint venture between Nissho Iwai Corporation (at that time the sixth largest company in the world) and Brinks Inc (a Fortune 500 US corporation). Currently Alex serves as an independent director on the board of of Sinocloud Ltd, a Singapore listed company as well as on several advisory boards of privately held companies and UHNWI’s investment arms.

Shlaen’s Panache Management (PM) represents companies that have superb and exquisite products that are outstanding in their niche markets. PM is exclusively representing Aston Martin Interiors, Tonino Lamborghini Casa, Formitalia design lines in Asia.

PM is involved in investment projects with focus on branded luxury projects, as well as providing luxury interiors & accessories for exclusive Homes, Villas, Hotels, Offices, Private Jets & Super Yachts.

As one of the few market analysts to predict a property boom at a time when global markets were in decline, Shlaen’s expertise is in demand from a select group of companies and HNWI property investors. He has written the Luxury Expert column in Property Report regional magazine since 2008 and is published and appearing in various regional and global major media and TV and chaired the panel of judges at the luxury regional Southeast Asia Property Awards. Alex is also a serial investor, served on property panel at the Russia Singapore Business Forum, St Petersburg Economic Forum and is a popular speaker in regional and international investment forums.
