Chintan Raveshia

Cities Leader | Cities & Planning Singapore, Arup

Chintan is a trained architect and an urban designer, and leads the Cities team in Arup Singapore. With over 15 years’ experience masterplanning precincts and mixed-use developments, strategising smart cities, regenerating urban landscapes, and designing transit oriented developments, Chintan has worked on some of the most iconic projects globally.

Chintan has lent his expertise to the High Speed Line 2 in the United Kingdom, the North West Rail Link Corridor Masterplan in Sydney and city-wide urban development and transport strategy for the city of Kocaeli in Turkey among others. His journey has brought him to Singapore where he helped to develop a vision for Singapore’s Smart Urban Habitat Masterplan, paving the future for the next generation of public housing in Singapore. He is currently working on an active mobility and car-lite masterplan project for Singapore.

In the last few years, Chintan has developed a strong interest in the designing and implementation of smart cities . Together with the Imperial College Business School, he has co-authored a paper entitled ’Smart Cities or Smart Governments?’ The paper highlighted the importance of government’s role in the success of smart cities/ nation agenda. He is also a regular keynote speaker to various international conferences on Cities and Urbanism in Asia and Europe focused on transit oriented developments, walkability and future of work and its effect on cities.
