Elvin Fernandez is the Managing Director of the Khong & Jaafar Group Of Companies and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Sunway REIT Management Sdn Bhd.

He is presently the Secretary General of the ASEAN Valuers Association, a Member and Qualified Business Valuation Instructor of the International Association of Consultants, Valuators & Analysts, the President of the Business Valuers Association Malaysia and an Executive Committee Member of the Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector Malaysia (PEPS).

He is a Past President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and PEPS and a Past Chairman of the International Valuation Standards Council. He also served as a Member/Exco Member of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia from 1993 till 2007.

Elvin is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK, Life Fellow of the Institution of Valuers India, Member of the Practising Valuers Association (India), Institute of Philippine Real Estate Appraisers, the National Association of Romanian Valuers, the Indonesian Society of Appraisers and China Appraisal Society.

He was awarded “Property Consultant of the Year 2005” by the Board of Valuers in 2006. On 20 May 2011 he was conferred with “Professional Excellence” Award in the “Engineering, Construction & Property” Category by the Malaysian Professional Centre. On 10 January 2014, he was conferred with “Valuer of the Year 2013” Award by the Valuation Division of RISM. Elvin was awarded the Million Dollar Roof Top Award by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) on 1 October 2016.

He has written and presented about 217 papers on property related topics for conferences since 1991 in Malaysia and overseas. Features regularly on property related articles in local newspapers.
