Thailand office demand reflects global future of work trends: JLL

JLL Thailand, a leading professional services firm specializing in real estate and investment management, released a series of articles based on its Future of Work 2024 survey, exploring key topics, from technology, to design and environmental, social and governance (ESG). According to JLL analysis, the past two years have seen substantial relocation demand for newer, modern offices in Thailand —a trend expected to continue through 2028, driven by the introduction of top-tier office spaces in key business districts. This shift presents a significant opportunity for companies to reevaluate their Future of Work strategies, enabling them to remain competitive in the talent market while aligning with evolving ESG standards. “The influx of modern office supply in Thailand signifies a transformative shift in the workplace landscape,” said Mr Michael Glancy, Managing Director for Thailand and Indonesia at JLL, in a RETalk Asia article. “Companies have a unique chance to reexamine their workspace strategies, ensuring they meet employee expectations for flexibility and sustainability while driving productivity and innovation.”

Organizations have been seen shifting to unified security platforms for data protection

A shift from multiple cybersecurity tools to a unified data security platform is expected to happen among organizations next year to enhance visibility and control of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven threats, according to a cybersecurity company. “We honestly believe organizations will start to move more and more to a single platform to address the types of sophisticated threats,” Steven Sherman, Palo Alto Networks regional vice-president for ASEAN, said in a media briefing as reported by BusinessWorld. Mr Sherman said cyberattacks have become more sophisticated and faster over time. “Organizations are being attacked quicker now at a greater scale, with a higher level of sophistication,” he said. A unified platform will help organizations build better resilience against such cyber threats by providing end-to-end visibility and context, spanning code repositories, cloud workloads, networks, and security operations centres.
