As the newly appointed Head of Growth, she is pushing for greater diversity and environmental responsibility in Indonesia’s property market

Vivin Harsanto, the newly appointed Head of Growth, Executive Director at JLL Indonesia, has long been recognised for her significant contributions to the real estate industry in Indonesia. With over 23 years of experience, Vivin has built a successful career in real estate advisory, providing critical strategic guidance for private and public sector clients. Her new role at JLL underscores her leadership in driving growth for the company, while her ongoing commitment to sustainability and empowering women in real estate remains central to her work.

A career rooted in strategic advisory and expertise

Vivin’s new position as the Head of Growth at JLL Indonesia marks the next phase in a distinguished career. As the leader of the Advisory Group, she now oversees the strategic direction of JLL’s business, focusing on expanding its presence and capabilities in the Indonesian real estate market. Her broad experience spans various real estate sectors, from commercial and residential to industrial, making her a trusted advisor to many major developers, investors, and corporations.

Her leadership at JLL has played a key role in shaping the company’s position as a leading provider of real estate services in Indonesia. She focuses on offering valuable insights, market research, and investment strategies, which have become essential for stakeholders looking to navigate the complexities of the market. Vivin’s work involves advising clients on large-scale developments, corporate real estate management, and long-term strategic planning.

Before joining JLL in 2008, Vivin led Citibank’s corporate real estate department and worked at the National Logistic Agency. Her extensive background in both corporate and public sector real estate management has provided her with the skills to lead JLL Indonesia’s advisory efforts, which contribute to the company’s success and growth in a rapidly changing market.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Vivin is an advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the real estate sector. As a senior leader in a predominantly male industry, Vivin is committed to fostering a work environment where women and people from diverse backgrounds can thrive. She believes that creating equitable opportunities and empowering women is essential to the future of the industry.

In her leadership role, Vivin has made it a priority to encourage collaboration and mentorship within her team. She has emphasised that providing support and empowering women to take on leadership roles not only benefits individuals but also strengthens the industry as a whole. Reflecting on her leadership philosophy, she said, “At JLL, we focus on creating equitable opportunities and fostering an inclusive environment, which aligns with our company’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). By fostering collaboration and providing mentorship, as well as empowering women, we not only raise the roof, but we try to change the structure altogether.”

Through this approach, Vivin is helping to build a more inclusive real estate industry, one that values the contributions of women and ensures they have the tools and support they need to succeed.

Supporting women’s growth and leadership

Vivin’s efforts to support women in real estate extend beyond her role at JLL. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards independent panel of judges, where she plays an active role in recognising and celebrating the achievements of the real estate community. This role gives her a platform to highlight the rising number of women leaders in the industry and to encourage others to pursue leadership positions.

For Vivin, promoting women’s growth in real estate is not just about providing opportunities but also about dismantling systemic barriers. She believes that women must be given the freedom and encouragement to step into leadership roles, and she works tirelessly to ensure that women are equipped with the skills and support needed to succeed.

Recognition and industry impact

Vivin’s work has garnered her widespread recognition, not only within JLL but across the broader real estate industry. Her dedication to the growth and sustainability of the sector, as well as her leadership in empowering women, has earned her a Power Woman 2024 honour at the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit VIP Cocktail Party, a testament to her leadership and vision.

Her role in JLL Indonesia and at the PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards has cemented her status as a leader in both the local and regional real estate industry. Vivin’s involvement in these initiatives underscores her commitment to raising the standards of the industry while ensuring that women are not only participants but leaders in the growth and evolution of the sector.

Looking to the future

As Vivin looks to the future, she is focused on ensuring the continued growth of JLL Indonesia while driving sustainability initiatives that align with global trends. Her vision for the future of real estate is one where environmental considerations, social responsibility, and inclusivity are integrated into every aspect of development.

Vivin’s leadership is a reminder that the real estate industry has the potential to evolve into a more inclusive and sustainable space. As the Head of Growth at JLL Indonesia, Vivin is committed to continuing to foster collaboration across various stakeholders and to creating a work environment where both women and men can thrive and lead in their respective areas.
